SAINING Cell Culture Series | Easy Grip Cell Culture Dish

Since M.J. Schleiden and T.A.H. Schwan proposed the "cell theory" in 1839 to identify cells as the basic unit of life, cell biology has gradually become one of the important fields of biology.
I believe that every researcher who is devoted to cell biology is no stranger to a simple cell culture tool---the cell culture dish, which almost accompanies the research career of cell culture personnel. And this biological experimental tool originated from bacteriology has been used for more than 100 years. The amazing thing is that such an ancient culture tool has almost never changed its appearance, still maintaining its "avenue to simplicity" design, serving bacteriology and cytology research.

A culture dish is a cell culture dish or tissue culture dish in English. But few people know its original name -- petrie dish (the name is mostly used in the field of bacterial culture). It was originally designed in 1887 by the bacteriologist Julius Richard Petrie, who was then an assistant to Koch's experiments, and consisted of a flat disc-shaped base and a lid. The original material was glass, which was gradually replaced by plastic. Petrie dish- - was initially used as a tool for carrying agar medium in bacterial culture, and later expanded as a tool for holding liquid medium in cell culture.

Ordinary cell culture dishes consist of a combination of a round bottom plate and a shallow lid. Cells rely on cell culture medium in a dish for in vitro growth.
However, in the process of grasping and opening the lid and carrying and moving such petri dishes, the outer diameter of the lid is larger than the outer diameter of the chassis. On the one hand, it affects the stability of the user's operation, scattering or even falling.
To this end, Saining Bio added a wavy convex ring at the appropriate position of the chassis, which can solve the above defects in use and provide an ergonomic and comfortable grip.
